Place of Water 4x4 Tour

Drive the Orrie Baragwansdath Pass in Limpopo crossing the most Northern tip of the Drakensberg from West to East. The western section is still as it was built more than a 100 years ago. On this tour you will also discover scenery not accessible to the general public as there is more to Lekgalameetse as just the Orrie Baragwanath Pass.

You will drive in your own 4x4 vehicle and you must make provision for your own provisions, including tents and camping gear, sufficient supply of water, firewood and food.

The tour is aimed at true bush lovers and ones who enjoy the wilderness and is not designed as an obstacle course or endurance test.

ITINERARY

Day 1
Option 1: Pretoria to Lekgalameetse via Tzaneen (± 450 km) (on your own). We meet at the Lekgalameetse Main Entrance Gate at 14:00.

Option 2: Challenging option - Pretoria to Lekgalameetse (± 450 km). Take the Bela-Bela offramp on the N1 and follow the road towards Bela-Bela for 1.3 km. We meet at Toeka Se Dae at 08:00 and depart for Lekgalameetse at 08:30.

Day 2 – Explore the Northern section of the Lekgalameetse Nature Reserve. Visit Church Forest, waterfalls, highest point in the reserve, Pioneer graves, etc. (± 75 km).

Day 3 – Explore more of the Lekgalameetse Nature Reserve. (± 75 km).

Day 4 - Visit the smallest city in South Africa and a 2 000+ year old Baobab tree (± 110 km).

Day 5 – Lekgalameetse to Pretoria (on your own) (± 450 km).
