Luvuvhu River 4x4 Tour

Carefully follow the rough tracks down into the Luvuvhu River Valley to the confluence of the Lambwe and Luvuvhu Rivers. Continue the 4x4 adventure across the foothills of the Tshamavudzi Mountain range and be amazed with the views of the Luvuvhu and Mutale Rivers ("World's View", Luvuvhu Gorge, the Mutale Falls and Mutale Potholes).

You will camp in unfenced areas in the Makuya Park. This adds to the experience of the trail. You will drive in your own 4x4 vehicle and you must make provision for your own provisions, including tents and camping gear, sufficient supply of water, firewood and food.

The tour is aimed at true bush lovers and ones who enjoy the wilderness and is not designed as an obstacle course or endurance test.

ITINERARY

Day 1 - Pretoria to Awelani Lodge (on your own) (600 km) and camp at Awelani Lodge.

Day 2 to 5 – After a guided walk to the local caves we depart on the Makuya 4x4 eco trail (± 100 km).

Day 5 – Mutale Camp.

Day 6 – Mutale camp to Pretoria (on your own - 600 km).

A. We meet at Awelani Lodge where we camp for the night.
A. We will camp at Awelani Lodge near Pafuri before the start of the trail and end the trail at Mutale Camp. Awelani Lodge is fenced and have common ablution facilities. The camp sites on the trail are unfenced with no ablution facilities and you must make provision for your own provisions, including tents and camping gear, sufficient supply of water, firewood and food.
A. Yes. The total length of the off-road trailer/caravan may not exceed 4,2m. The smaller the better.
A. There will be limited cell signal on the trip.
